Melbourne City Council Green Canopy Forum

Wednesday May 25,  6:00 – 7:30pm

GLG is very excited to be supporting Melbourne’s Green Canopy project. Through our fostering of creative environments, both musical and artistic, we can afford to install this delightful addition for the visual enjoyment of the residents and visitors to Guildford Lane.

The Melbourne Green Roof Forum brings together people to share their passion, ideas and experience greening our cities through green roofs, walls and other green urban infrastructure.Join us for a drink and hear from two guest speakers who each have a strong desire to see more green walls appearing across our urban landscape. As always, this will be followed by an open mic session where you can ask a question or promote your green roof related products or services.

MELBOURNE GAY & LESBIAN YOUTH CHORUS

SUNDAY MAY 15 3.00 – 5.00

Established in August 2005, the Youth Chorus is Australasia’s first gay and lesbian youth chorus.  It provides young people aged between 16 and 29 a fantastic, safe and friendly environment in which to develop their singing skills.  The Youth Chorus is a chorus of the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus Inc (MGLC) – in other words, a “choir within a choir”.  The Youth Chorus has its own weekly rehearsals and members over 18 can also join the main chorus to further develop their musical repertoire.

In April 2010, the Youth Chorus performed its first headline concert at Gasworks Theatre as part of National Youth Week. The sell-out show, entitled The Sound of Youth, was a huge success and cemented its important place in the Melbourne queer community.

Join the Youth Chorus for an afternoon of music and merriment.

Tickets $15 on the door.
