Friday Night Jazz continues throughout June @ GLG. Friday nights are a chance to see a great variety of emerging and talented Melbourne musicians along with more established players such as Steve Sedergreen.

The stage is often crowded with collaborators offering a musical feast for the ears. The bar is well stocked and inexpensive, so get down to GLG for a great night of spontaneous music.

Artist Talks & Openings

'Fragments' Opening Night

Last Thursday the Gallery was full of artists and observers to hear select artists from the hugely popular ‘Story of a Secret State’ speak about their work. We also opened two new exhibitions from up and coming Melbourne Artists, ‘Fragments’ and ‘Children of Tanzania’

Ollie on Piano @ GLG

GLG was lucky enough to witness a spontaneous performance by Ollie McGill (The Cat Empire). The Friday night crowd were surprised and excited to hear the energetic collaboration with Ollie on Piano along with various other musicians creating fun music all night. Friday Night Jazz is on every Friday from 5PM, come and enjoy the art, the music and the wine. Emerging and established musicians are welcome to come and join in on Friday night.

‘Story of a Secret State’ Opening Night

An artist adds her contribution to the exhibition canvas

Thursday 29th April saw GLG full of guests for the opening of ‘Story of a Secret State,’ taking aim at the human rights violations taking place in North Korea.

The night was a great success with several pieces sold including the exhibition canvas (right) that artists contributed to on the night. We look forward to hearing from some of the artists themselves at the Artist Talks on Thursday 6th May @ 6pm.
